Hon. Sherri Potvin

I am a native Vermonter and have been a resident of the Champlain Islands for the past 50 years. I have held the position of Assistant Judge since 1991. Additionally, I was employed as the Executive Director of Lake Champlain Islands Economic Development Corporation and only recently retired from this position.

I have attended Chittenden County schools and graduated from Champlain College with a degree in Paralegal Studies. I have also attended numerous professional development programs in the fields of accounting, business, law and human services at Community College of Vermont, Johnson State College and Vermont Law School.

My husband Jeff and I have been married for over 40 years and have two adult sons and daughters in law, Alex and Karen and Evan and Erin. We also are the proud grandparents to five amazing grandchildren.

As Assistant Judge for Grand Isle County I have worked hard to maintain our County Court House and the adjacent Annex. The Annex is currently home to the Grand Isle County States’ Attorney Offices. Many updates have been made to our Court House to facilitate the smooth operation of our daily business as well as preserving the historic character of the building. This has involved applying for and receiving many grants as well as careful budgeting.

It has been a privilege to serve the residents of Grand Isle County and I look forward to continuing in this capacity.
